Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPEQUIP
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Unsafe conditions in the operation of Refuse Trucks. (Ref: American National Standard (ANSI) Z245.1.1992 section 6.1 (a)(b) a)Route, Justice Road - employees had never received instruction and training in safe operation of Refuse Trucks and the employer had not monitored the employee's operation of equipment and taken appropriate action to ensure proper use of equipment. This resulted in a facility on 03/12/99 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to train and monitor employees in the safe operation of Refuse Trucks.
