Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of rolling spools of sack material: (a)On 25 Jan 00, and at times prior thereto, workers were exposed to spools of material that were released from the laminating machine and rolled freely on the floor in an unmarked and unenclosed area. This hazard exposed employees to being struck by these spools. Note: Abatement certification required for this item.
