Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LACKTRAIN
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)establishment, for not training employees on the Certificate Holders General Maintenance Manual and Manufacturers Maintenance Manual. Employer did not ensure that employees who were assigned to replace defective hardware (washers) as part of the disassembly and/or reassembly of the nose landing gear were properly trained (as referenced by FAR 145.2 and 121.367). Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to train employees who work on this type of aircraft to follow the manufacturers requirements and those of the certificate holders general maintenance manual requirements.
