Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to falls and crush hazards in that the anchor point utilized for fall protection was not designed to meet necessary criteria: a) At 32451 Walt Bassett, Pueblo, CO: ALM Aviation, LLC, employees were exposed to falls in excess of ten feet when they were performing masking activities while anchored to the rungs of MEC Model 2548HT Aerial Work Platform, Serial Number 7103054. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazardous condition would be to utilize an appropriate work platform with an appropriate anchor point for anchoring fall protection systems.
