North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to having a load of wet product weighing approximately 500 pounds fall on them: a)extractor area: load rating for monorail beam carrying wet loads could not be determined. Among other means, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have an engineer calculate the beam load rating, as indicated in ASME HST-1M-1989, paragraph 5.4.2.
