By hand its meant, making the cylinder roll on the edge of its base by holding the top of the cylinder, tilting it a few degrees and rotating it. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the instructions given in the Handbook of Compressed Gasses chapter 4 section 3.4.1 En el area de mecanica de aviones de American Airlines en el gate 15 y debajo del Admiral Club, empleados movian a mano cilindros de nitrogeno seco, tipo T, con una capacidad de 304 pies cubicos, y pesando unas 150 libras, desde el lugar donde se almacenan los cilindros al carrito de servicio, unos treinta y cinco a cuarenta pies fueron expuestos a resbalones, caidas y explosion.
