OSH Act Sec. 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The empl oyer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from r ecognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of crushing inju ries: a. On or about July 13, 2011 employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck-by materials being handled by a P&H crane serial # 1860 in build ing one (1) red building with an inoperative safety latch on the hook of the hoi st. b. On or about July 13, 2011 employees were exposed to the hazard of being c rushed/struck-by materials being handled by cranes while operating a P&H crane s erial # CH15121 in building one (1) red building with an inoperative safety latc h on the hook of the hoist. c. On or about July 13, 2011 employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck-by materials being handled by a P&H crane serial # RA76233 in building one (1) red building with an inoperative safety latch on the hook of the hoist. Amon g other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the haz ard is to repair or replace the safety latches in accordance with ASME B30.10-20 09, American Society of Mechanical Engineers for Hooks, Section 10-1.10.6(c). ** * Abatement Documentation is required in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).***
