Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: PUNCTURE
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to lacerations and puncture hazards: a) Unit #1 So2 Plant "B" Train - Two employees were working high pressure water lances without side handles and without a multi gun valve in the feed line. Both are safety devices required by the manufactures. Observed 09/27/97. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible means of abatement is to use multi gun valves and side handles. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
