P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of falling from elevated platforms: a) At the construction site - Employees were exposed to fall hazards. A forklift tractor with an unapproved platform was used for lifting personnel to perform carpentry/framing work, on or about 11/29/00. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard is: 1- Provide an approved platform designed for this purpose, securely attached to the forks.
