Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that on July 17, 1996, at Rig #6, Rose Hill, Jasper County, MS, two employees working at the rotary between the breakout and makeup lines were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the wire rope jerk line which had broken wires reducing its size by onehalf while it rubbed against a metal rope guide which was grooved and defective.
