Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (A) The compressed air system used in the gear locker was partially made up of poly vinyl chloride (PVC) schedule 40 and running under a pressure of 120 psi. Furthermore, sections 842.32,842.43, and 849.52(b) of the (ANSI/ASME) B31.8-1986 prohibit the installation of such systems above ground except when completely enclosed.y
