Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LOCKOUT
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. An employee was exposed to a potentially hazardous energy source that was not locked or tagged out by the employer. Jack Wolf GMC. An employee using an extension ladder from the back of a pick-up truck did not have control of the accidental start up of that truck. Feasible abatement methods include, but are not limited to: 1)Not placing the ladder in the back of a truck. 2)Develop a written lockout/tagout program that complies with the American National Standard for Personnel Protection - Lockout/Tagout of Energy Sources Minimum Safety Requirements, ANSI Z244.1 3)Train all employees in the proper methods of lockout tagout. NO CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED ON THIS ITEM
