Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: Excel Corporation, Friona Division, Hwy 60, Friona, TX. For the period of time up to and including 03/05/99, the capacity of hoist beams were not stenciled on beams in the laundry and hide room areas. This exposed employees to injuries associated with falling objects and/or machinery/equipment. Feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard are: Stenciling the capacity on the beams of the hoist. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
