Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees preparing to unload cargo are subject to crushing injuries caused by falling loads. Extruded aluminum products fell and pinned an employee to the ground after he released the tie down straps. On or about 05/13/98 aluminum extrusions on a flatbed truck were not secured to prevent the load from shifting and falling.
