Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of over loading an aerial lift: (a)6/10th of a mile west of 5 Mile Road on West Franklin, Boise, ID - On 30 April 1998, the JLG aerial lift (model # 26MRT, serial # 020030336) was rated to safely handle two employees, six workers occupied the lift at the same time and were lowered down from approximately 20 feet to the ground surface. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATION AND LIMIT THE NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS TO TWO EMPLOYEES.
