29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: On the kill floor, the employer is failing to ensure protective equipment is being used when employees are in contact with chemicals in the workplace. This violation occurs when maintenance mechanics are exposed to cleaning chemicals used by the contract cleaning service, to include but not limited to KC-615 Packers Chemical Inc. (health hazard 2), used in combination with Easyfoam VF32 (Corrosive, sodium hydroxide, sodium hypochlorite), G-5 Quat (health hazard 3), VF-10 Acid Foam Cleaner-Descaler (corrosive).
