29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about April 13, 2026, employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 40 feet while performing framing, decking, and masonry activities at a commercial building located at 3925 Greentree Ave SW, Canton, Ohio 44706. The employees were working on the 4th floor of the building and the employer did not ensure that they were protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.
