29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): The employer permitted employees to work in close proximity to energized, unguarded, and ungrounded electric power circuits that the employee could contact in the course of their work: Employees performing electrical upgrade work on panel boxes, light switches, and wiring in a pre existing building were exposed to electrical shock hazards because the electrical system was not kept deenergized until all electrical work was completed. (a) On or about November 3, 2025, employees performed work on existing stairway lighting but the circuit was not kept deenergized. (b) On or about January 20, 2026, employees conducted electrical work on a light switch on the roof of Penthouse 3 and 4 but the circuit was not kept deenergized.
