Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing of likely to cause death or serious pysical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing hazard: A) East Penn Trucking Company, Chancey 1974 Low Boy Trailer, loading ramps used to drive a Caterpillar Diesel Forklift, Model V40B SN:57W317 onto low boy trailer were defective in that ramps were bent and damaged, exposing forklift operator to forklift falling off ramp, June 22, 1990. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to insure damage free ramps are used to load low boy trailer, by replacement and/or repair.
