29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):" Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At a commercial worksite located at 11304 Blue Ridge, Kansas City, MO. Employees were exposed to serious injuries, in that the unprotected sides and edges of the elevated work area were not provided with guardrails or any other means of fall protection. The employees were exposed to an approx. 14-17 ft fall hazard to the concrete surfaces below.
