29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. The employer does not protect each employee from eye and or face injuries while installing roofing material with air driven nail guns and hand tools on residential structures by the use of eye protection. This most recently occurred on April 4, 2025, during the installation of roofing material at a job site located at 4160 Greenwood Oval, North Royalton, OH 44133; the employer did not ensure that all employees engaged in installing roofing material with air driven nail guns and hand tools were protected from eye and or face injury by utilizing personal protective equipment.
