29 CFR 1910.28(b)(8)(ii): Floor markings were not applied at least 6 feet from the edge of the service pit in colors that contrasted with the surrounding area; or a warning line was not placed at least 6 feet from the edge of the pit as well as stanchions that were capable of resisting, without tipping over, a force of at least 16 pounds applied horizontally against the stanchion at a height of 30 inches; or a combination of floor markings and warning lines were not placed at least 6 feet from the edge of the pit: Garage - The employer failed to ensure the service pit was marked at least 6 feet from the edge to warn employees in the area of the potential fall hazard.
