29 CFR 1926.451(c) Criteria for supported scaffolds. (2)(v): Fork-lifts shall not be used to support scaffold platforms unless the entire platform is attached to the fork and the fork-lift is not moved horizontally while the platform is occupied. a) On March 18, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that a scaffold platform used on the forks of a telehandler was properly attached. Specifically, four subcontractor employees accessed a commercial roof by standing on an unsecured pallet placed on the forks of a telehandler to perform concrete work. The pallet was not attached to the forks, and the equipment was used to elevate employees without meeting the requirements for supported scaffold platforms. As a result, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 26 feet.
