29 CFR 1910.178(l): Operators were not trained in the safe operation of powered industrial trucks: The employer fails to train and evaluate employees to ensure they are competent to operate powered industrial trucks safely. This was most recently documented on March 12, 2025, at 9631 Wilkinson Ct. Maize, KS, when employees engaged in residential framing activities were exposed to serious crushing and struck-by injuries when an employee operating a forklift had not completed a forklift training program that met the requirements of OSHA standard 1910.178(l) powered industrial trucks, operator training. To abate this violation, the employer must train and evaluate its employees who will operate powered industrial trucks as required by 29 CFR 1910.178(l). Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance at future worksites.
