29 CFR 1918.35: Employees were working around open weather deck hatches which were not protected by coamings to a height of 24 inches (0.61 m), or by taut lines or barricades at a height of 36 to 42 inches (0.91 m to 1.07 m) above the deck. M/V Golden Alaska - Top Deck forward of wheel house - On or about March 4, 2025 employees were performing longshoring activities around an open hatch guarded by non-taut lines at a height of 34 inches, exposing employees to a fall of approximately 25 feet.
