29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: Raw Room: The employer did not ensure procedures to de-energize blenders were utilized during cleaning operations, where employees were exposed to moving parts such as the screw conveyor and star wheel blades creating an amputation hazard. On November 11, 2024, blender 6 was cleaned while the screw conveyor and star wheel blade were in operation, resulting in a finger amputation from the rotating parts. The Home Market Foods, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1532299, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12-8-2021, with respect to a workplace located at 140 Morgan Drive, Norwood, MA 02062.
