29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i):Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Fenner Dunlop Americas, Inc. doing business as Fenner Dunlop ECS located at 5225 West Lakeshore Drive in Port Clinton, Ohio: On or about October 1, 2024 the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from work surfaces with unprotected sides four feet or more above a lower level. Employees performing repair work on the hydraulic cylinders located on the top of the decks of the Slempelkamp curing presses #3 and #4 were exposed to falls of approximately six feet. Employees were exposed to injuries associated with falls of approximately six feet such as, but not limited to, contusions, fractures, concussion, and death.
