29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: a) Paint booth area: on or about October 17, 2024, the employer required an employee applying powder coating paint to use a tight-fitting cartridge style respirator without ensuring that the employee did not have facial hair between the sealing surface of the respirator and the employees face.
