29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): 11309 W. Chetlain Lane, Galena, IL: On or about September 10, 2024, employees were disassembling a pallet racking system while standing on the 1st and 2nd level of the racking system, exposing employees to a fall of 5 feet or greater. The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i). Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1903(c).
