Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to inhalation hazards. On or about September 4, 2024, and at times prior thereto and continuing thereafter, drivers were exposed to unknown levels of hydrogen sulfide gas when inspecting, securing and transporting loads of offal trailers and blood tankers without early warning devices such as portable gas detectors. Employees developed symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea and difficulty breathing which are consistent with exposure to hydrogen sulfide.
