OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish the employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm, in that; employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while servicing pressurized multi-piece aircraft rims: a) Wheel and Brake Shop; Breakdown Area: On August 27, 2024, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards, in that; the employer failed to ensure that adequate aircraft tire deflation procedures were developed and implemented to control the struck-by hazards associated with explosive separation of multi-piece aircraft wheel rims that can be caused by rapid depressurization of aircraft tires during wheel disassembly.
