29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): The employer permitted employees to work in close proximity to energized, unguarded, and ungrounded electric power circuits that the employee could contact in the course of their work: (a) On or about August 26, 2024, an employee installing lighting was exposed to electrical shock while working around exposed electrical parts with a voltage of 120 volts. (b) On or about August 22, 2024, employees installing residential electrical service were exposed to electrical shock while working around exposed electrical parts with a voltage of 120/240 volts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
