Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognize hazards that were causing or likely to cause death of serious physical harm to employees in the employees were exposed to a crushing hazard. a) Building 69, Distribution Warehouse - as of the day of the follow up inspection, the company was not requiring all fork truck drivers on the premises to wear seat belts. The only time fork truck operators are required to wear seat belts are while they are operating trucks on the ramp between the first and second floors of the warehouse. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible and effective means of abatement this hazard would be to require employees to use seat belts anytime they are operating powered industrial trucks.ial
