Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from the hazard of high heat while performing job duties. On or about August 8, 2024, and at times prior thereto, employees working in the injection molding and container assembly areas of the facility were exposed to the hazard of high heat including high temperature during the performance of their job duties. On August 8, 2024, heat stress sampling indicated a temperature of 90.5 degrees Fahrenheit (F), and a heat index of 119.1 F. Such exposures are likely to lead to the development of heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and death.
