29 CFR 1910.146(c)(7)(i): A space classified by the employer as permit-required confined space was reclassified as a non-permit confined space when all hazards within the space were not eliminated without entry into the space: a) Gold Medal Environmental of New Jersey Inc. - Yard area/Landfill: Employees entered the Mc Neilus Rear Loader and Front Loader trash compactors (packers), a permit required confined space, to clean residual trash without locking out. The battery disconnect , which prevents residual energy from moving the ejector's blade, was not locked out. . Occurred on or about 09/04/2024.
