29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(8):Ladders placed in a location where they could be displaced by workplace activities or traffic, such as in passageways, doorways, or driveways, were not secured to prevent accidental displacement, nor was a barricade used to keep the activities or traffic away from the ladder. a) Huntington Fire Department, 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY 11743 - Employee on site was utilizing a 28-foot fiberglass Werner extension ladder setup in the mechanics bay of the firehouse. The ladder was setup in the track of the overhead garage door and extended approximately 17-feet in the air leaning against a building support structure. The ladder was not secured to prevent accidental displacement; on or about July 29, 2024. Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
