29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above floors or platforms were not enclosed. a. On or about April 29, 2024, in the RTE Department, employees were required to operate the VC-999, Model RS 560 Ready to Eat (RTE) packaging machine without effective guarding to prevent contact with the chain and sprocket on the Safeline PowerPhase Pro, Model V4-R-SS, Serial #520242 metal detector's conveyor belt. Employees were thereby exposed to the hazards associated with unguarded ingoing nip points.
