Section 5(a)(1)of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment an a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Hazard of employees being injured from high water pressure at or about 3,000 p.s.i. from the Wirthington Water Pumps that were not locked out during maintenance work. Maintenance personnel work on these pumps when a problem occurs and the lockout procedure set up by management was not followed. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: when maintenance is to be done of dangerous pieces of equipment the lock out procedure shall be followed as set forth by the company.
