29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by pinch points and shear points: Shop Floor: On, or about, April 11, 2024, an employee suffered a serious finger injury while operating the Enco manual shear, Model 61118667. The hold-down with an affixed guard was not adjusted down to prevent employees' fingers from entering the space below the hold-down during operation of the shear. Abatement Note: According to the Operation Manual for the shear, a "small workpiece pushing plate" is available to be used for fabricating small and/or angled parts.
