Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards: a) On or about 04/22/2024 at the site located at 3000 Milton Ave, Solvay, NY 13209: Employees were exposed to burn and struck-by injuries when the employer failed to cap fuel gas piping and failed to ensure the fuel gas piping and equipment was not purged indoors on the Lindberg Kiln, Core Machine #4, and Core Machine #5 which could result in the fuel gas (natural gas) being vented indoors and igniting causing a flame or explosion.
