29 CFR 1910.178(o)(1):The employer did not ensure that only stable or safely arranged loads were handled: a) Location - MEPDC - SIPS/Platform B On or about 8/22/24, the employer did not ensure that employees only handled safety arranged or stable loads in the following instances; a) An employee was observed operating a sit-down type powered industrial truck carrying two stacked pallets, and proceeded to push an additional two stacked pallets that were not on the forks of the powered industrial truck. b)� An employee was observed operating a sit-down type powered industrial truck carrying a pallet, and proceeded to push an additional pallet that was not on the forks of the powered industrial truck. c) An employee was observed operating a ride-on powered pallet jack that was towing multiple GPMC containers that are not designed to be moved with the forks of a powered industrial truck. U.S. Postal Service dba Middlesex Essex Processing and Distribution Center (MEPDC) was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(o)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1650032, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 5th, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 76 Main Street, North Reading, MA 01889.
