29 CFR 1910.28(b)(13)(ii): The employer did not ensure that when work is performed at least 6 feet (1.6 m) but less than 15 feet (4.6 m) from the roof edge, each employee is protected from falling by using a guardrail system, safety net system, travel restraint system, or personal fall arrest system. The employer may use a designated area when performing work that is both infrequent and temporary. a) Limited Access Roof: On or about March 19, 2024, an employee was exposed to fall hazards of nineteen (19) feet from the lower surface due to a lack of a fall protection system while performing maintenance on a roof vent that is located eight (8) feet, seven (7) inches from the roof's edge. Abatement certification required.
