Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(ii): 29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(ii): Grounding. Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 & less degree F (37.8 or less degree C), shall not be dispensed into containers unless the nozzle and container are electrically interconnected: a) Alpha Precision Group, LLC, Kohler Room - On or about 3/27/24, and times prior thereto: Employees utilized an approximately 5 gallon plastic container to transfer Rustproofing Oil (category 3 flammable liquid) to the 200 gallon dip tank. The approximately 5 gallon container was not bonded to provide the dissipation of static electricity associated with dispensing the flammable liquid from the 5 gallon container to the dip tank. b) Alpha Precision Group, LLC, Kohler Room - On or about 3/27/24, and times prior thereto: Employees utilized an approximately 5 gallon plastic container to transfer Rustproofing Oil (category 3 flammable liquid) from the larger drum. The 5 gallon container was not bonded to provide the dissipation of static electricity associated with dispensing the flammable liquid from the 5 gallon plastic container to into the dip tank. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
