Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about March 25, 2024, the employer did not ensure that effective guarding was in place on the mozzarella cooker cube pusher. Employees are exposed to the automatic moving machine parts of the rams which push down and through the mozzarella cube formers. No effective guarding was in place to prevent employees from reaching into the hazardous area. Miceli Dairy Products Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1661150, citation number 1, item number 4 , and was affirmed as a final order on May 24, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 2721 East 90th Street, Cleveland, OH 44104.
