29 CFR 1910.29(b)(13)(i): The guardrail system opening used around holes that serve as points of access (such as ladderways), did not have a self-closing gate that slides or swings away from the hole, and was equipped with a top rail and midrail or equivalent intermediate member that met the requirements in paragraph (b) of this section: (a) South plant starter room; On or about February 23, 2024, and dates prior, the employer failed to provide a self-closing gate at the fixed ladder access point of the HT #8 and HT #9 platform. (b) South plant make room; On or about February 23, 2024, and dates prior, the employer failed to provide a self-closing gate at the fixed ladder access point of the whey tank platform.
