Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i):Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: On or about January 27, 2024 the employer did not ensure that machine specific procedures for the RCS 6 machine were utilized prior to employees performing service or maintenance on the equipment. Employees were tasked with servicing the equipment and did not utilize the procedures in place at the time. Hazardous energies present include but are not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1575518, citation number 1, item number 3 b and was affirmed as a final order on August 15, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 147 Quigley Blvd. New Castle, DE.
