OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to falls, struck-by, and caught between hazards. a) Boscov's Department Store, 11 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, On or about 1/29/24: Employees were exposed to injuries from standing on a collapsing deck during demolition operations. The employer did not have a competent person conduct inspection to identify demolition related hazards such as ensuring the cut lines were landed correctly, ensuring that the slabs were adequately supported prior to rigging operations, and ensuring that slabs were shored prior to rigging operations. Employees were exposed to struck, by and caught between hazards.
