Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by/crush-by hazards: On January 4, 2023, and at times prior, at 3940 15th Avenue North in Fargo, North Dakota, employees were exposed to struck-by/crushing hazards where storage rack systems that had damaged structural components and were not secured to the floor to prevent displacement. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard include: 1) Follow ANSI MH 16.1: Specification for the Design, testing, and Utilizing of Industrial Steel Storage Racking. 2) Ensure that all repairs are approved by a Registered Professional Engineer. 3) Ensure the load capacities of the storage racks are not exceeded.
