29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: location: front of house addition on or about: 10/6/23 a) Employees were gaining access to and from the attic using a ladder that extended only 1 1/2 feet above the upper level. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19. The CBL Construction Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1634811, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/24/23, with respect to a workplace located at 20 Nelson St. Yonkers NY 10704.
