29 CFR 1915.73(d): When employees were exposed to unguarded edges of decks, platforms, flats, or similar flat surfaces, more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the edges were not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(j)(1) and (2). a) On or about September 20, 2023, at the crane pedestal on the deck of a vessel named the "Kevin D" located at the Miss Monica Dry Dock, employees worked without adequate fall protection while performing maintenance operations near a floor hole, at a height greater than five feet above the surface below.
